Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, announced that they provided more than TL 6.6 billion in cash assistance to needy citizens in March.
Stating that they support them with various social assistance programs for needy citizens, Minister Yanık said, “We do not leave our citizens alone in many matters, from supporting natural gas consumption to help with electricity, from housing help to socio-economic support, from home care Help to general health insurance.”
Stating that they have established and maintained a sustainable, accountable and rights-based welfare system that adheres to objective criteria, Minister Yanık made statements regarding the cash grants that took place in March.
Minister Yanık said he provided about TL 231 million in electricity consumption support to households receiving regular social assistance programs in March.
Minister Yanık said that the first payments of natural gas consumption support, implemented in February for households in need, had started and they had made a payment of TL 80.5 million.
Minister Yanık said that they support citizens who do not have health insurance or whose health insurance premiums are covered by the ministry so that they can benefit from health services. Noting that general health insurance premiums are covered in this direction, Minister Yanık said, “As a ministry, we undertook the general health insurance premium of TL 2.6 billion that our citizens had to pay to the SGK. In addition, we have refunded the amount paid on behalf of the hospital, medicine, prescription and optical contribution fee of 2.8 million TL to the beneficiaries.
Citizens with disabilities are accompanied with their families
Stating that they provide economic support as well as policy making for disabled citizens, Minister Yanık said that they have deposited 653 million TL in disability pension, 836 million TL in old age pension and 1 billion 260 million TL of home care assistance to the accounts of the beneficiaries.
Stating that they aim to protect the family integrity of needy families and provide economic and social support in this direction, Minister Yanık used the following statements:
“We care that children grow up as healthy individuals with their own families by preventing them from being separated from their families and growing up in different environments for economic reasons. In this context, families in need can meet the other needs of their children, particularly in terms of education, thanks to the SED. In March, we provided a total of 236 million TL in support to our families.
Minister Yanık said that with “conditional education aid”, they provide educational support to families with children of primary and secondary school age who do not have social security , provided that the children continue in school. He said they provide regular cash assistance, on the condition that they have their health checks done at times determined by the ministry. Stating that they provide support for the nutritional and self-care needs of needy households with children aged 0 to 2 born with multiple births, Minister Yanık said they have deposited a total of TL 292 million to beneficiary accounts within the scope of these three aids.
Minister Yanık said that they had provided around TL 32 million of support in March as part of birth assistance for every Turkish citizen and blue card holders who apply for it after birth.
Additional resources have been transferred to SYDV for the month of Ramadan
Minister Derya Yanık announced that he has transferred about TL 224 million of additional resources to Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations (SYDV) so that needy households can meet their basic needs ahead of the month of Ramadan. Minister Yanık said periodic transfer of shares of TL 202.5 million to SYDV was also made and a total of TL 426.5 million was sent to foundations for use. citizens in need.
Pandemic support continues
Minister Yanık said that they continue to support needy citizens periodically with the Epidemic Social Support Program, which was implemented due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Stating that the request for Phase 3 support via e-government continues, Minister Yanık noted that a payment of TL 8.5 million was made in March.
Minister Yanık said that they have also provided assistance to improve accommodation conditions for citizens in need due to the winter months.
