Colorful April 23 celebration in Osmaniye

Various events were organized by Osmaniye Municipality in Masal Park within the framework of April 23, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.

OSMANİYE – As part of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, Osmaniye Municipality held various activities in Masal Park. The children had a lot of fun creating colorful pictures during the event, which was attended by hundreds of children.

Osmaniye Municipality held a children’s festival in Masal Park as part of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. The program, which began with a minute of silence and the singing of the national anthem, continued with performances by children. At the event, National Education Director Aydın Albak, Mayor Kadir Kara, CHP Deputy Osmaniye Baha Ünlü and Governor Erdinç Yılmaz delivered speeches on the meaning and significance of the day.

“Atatürk gave you April 23 as a holiday”

During the event’s opening speech, National Education Director Aydın Albak said, “The Turkish nation wrote an epic as it fought for liberation against seven heifers 102 years ago and rose from the ashes. The founder of our country, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, held the Turkish Grand National Assembly in Ankara on April 23, 1920. He declared this rebirth to the whole world. Dear children, as important as the establishment of the Republic of Turkey is, its development, protection and continuity are at least as important Atatürk, who knew this very well, said: “We founded the Republic, it will maintain it alive and will raise it up. In the last part of the program, prizes were given to the winners of the painting competition on the theme “April 23 Enthusiasm” organized by the Municipality of Osmaniye within the framework of the activities of celebration of the national sovereignty of April 23 and the Children’s Day. The contest winners, Zehra Asker, second Damla Tuğçe Kaya, third Yunus Emre Özdemir, and honorable mention, Leyla Deniz Demir and Hasan Baran received their awards from Governor Erdinç Yılmaz and protocol members.
