Trade Minister Mehmet Muş met Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, at the Dolmabahçe Labor Office in Beşiktaş. Speaking at the meeting, Minister Muş recalled that it was held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in February under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Minister, “These visits have opened the doors to a new era in our cultural, political and economic relations with the United Arab Emirates. These contacts have also formed the basis of the negotiations of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement that we have started. here. The United Arab Emirates, with its bilateral trade volume of $8 billion, is the current Gulf region of Turkey. It is the largest trading partner in its region. Besides trade in goods, Many leading Turkish companies in various service sectors from procurement, logistics, finance, healthcare, education and tourism have created successful businesses in the UAE.” mentioned.
“WE WILL IMPLEMENT A NEXT-GENERATION AGREEMENT MODEL”
Minister, “The Emirates’ state-owned subsidiaries and companies operate effectively in different sectors of our country, and the number of new investments and business cooperations from the UAE in our country is increasing exponentially. In light of these developments, we will only negotiate in these negotiations a customary free trade agreement relating solely to the trade in raw materials, we are in the process of putting in place a model of a new generation agreement compatible with the global trade dynamics of tomorrow.‘ he said.
Minister Muş said that in this difficult process, Turkey has managed to make progress in world trade. “In fact, from 2021, for the first time in our history, we have succeeded in raising our share of world trade above 1% and increasing our exports to $225 billion.
