Stating that the Ministry of Family and Social Services provides many social services, Minister Yanık said that the SED is also a service model to support children.
Emphasizing that SED, which is a family-oriented practice, aims to prevent children from growing up away from their families for economic reasons, Minister Yanık said:
“This month, we are disbursing a total of 236 million TL in social and economic support to the children of our needy families. The SED is paid to families to cover the school expenses and other needs of their children. With our SED service, we aim to support our families in need and protect family integrity. By preventing family members from separating for economic reasons, we provide both material and moral support for the healthy growth of our children. By organizing many activities for our children who benefit from the SED payment, we provide an environment for their social and cultural development as well as financial support.
Stating that 144,000 children benefit from the SED service, Minister Yanık recalled that the average amount paid for each child increased from 1259 lira to 1611 lira last month.
WHAT IS SED HELP?
SIA assistance which has been carried out for years by the Ministry of Family and Social Services; It refers to the economic support and psychosocial support provided to families until children from poor and needy families are able to take care of themselves.
In other words, families and their children benefit from psychosocial support as well as financial assistance.

WHO GIVES SED HELP?
We can summarize who can benefit from Social and Economic Assistance, that is to say, to whom this assistance is granted as follows:
Children who have been cared for in a social service institution before and who are cared for in these institutions, but who can be cared for by their families and relatives if they receive help from the SED.
Children who are in a precarious economic situation and will therefore become needy if they do not benefit from the aid of the SED, who have not benefited from a care measure and who can be cared for by their family or their relatives if their family receives assistance from the SED.
Those who have been the subject of a care measure decision, but who have reached the age limit and who continue their work and vocational studies or studies after leaving the social service institution or the foster family who takes care of them.
Young people who have reached the age limit, who have not been able to have a job and a profession after leaving the social service institution or the foster family, who will be in need even if they are not not supported by using the SED.
Extraordinary disaster, disaster, accident, disease, etc. Children of people who cannot afford to take care of themselves and their families due to circumstances, or who have to undergo an operation due to a terminal illness or who have died
In short, HIA aid; It is made for families who cannot meet the minimum needs of their children.
In addition to children for whom a custody measure has been taken, the parents of children who have not been subject to a custody measure can also apply for SED support for their children.
