Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ’s march to the Interior Ministry was blocked by police. In a press statement to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Özdağ told Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu: “You will be arrested when this duty is done, you are aware of it, you are the biggest criminal in the Republic. of Turkey.”
Stating that he will visit the Interior Ministry at 11:00 a.m. today in response to Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu’s statements about himself in a television broadcast, Özdağ announced that Soylu would march to the ministry, saying that he had been running an ‘operation’ for himself and the Zafer party for some time.
Özdağ, who appeared on Halk TV’s Front of the Curtain tonight and spoke about the discussion between him and Soylu, said: “We will meet one day. There will be no police next to him, or any policeman next to me, so we’ll see what happens.”
“What would happen if he came face to face with the noble?” Responding to the question, Özdağ said:
“Let Süleyman wonder. It won’t end as long as me and Süleyman are alive. It has nothing to do with AK party members. I don’t answer AK party members. I have a lot of answers , but I won’t. This is not a political thing. It became a personal thing between Süleyman Soylu and Ümit Özdağ. There is God above, if I die without being held responsible, my eyes will open.
“It is not the first time that Süleyman Soylu has insulted me. He has already severely insulted me during a press conference. When the press asked me, I said that I would not answer. I I took him to court. The court issued a decision not to prosecute.”
The tension between Özdağ and Soylu started with the statements Soylu made about Özdağ in the show he attended on TGRT Haber the day before.
Soylu said of Özdağ: “He’s a child of Soros and a child of operations. Obviously he’s an intelligence officer” and used the words “I wouldn’t consider him a man” .
Soylu viewed Özdağ’s words “I funded it” as a “Soros tactic” for the film “Silent Invasion” about refugees in Turkey.
Özdağ’s march to the ministry has been blocked
Giving a brief statement to the press outside his party headquarters in the morning, Özdağ marched towards the Interior Ministry with some of his supporters. However, after a while, his progress past the ministry was stopped by the police.
Özdağ made a harsh statement after being blocked by the police:
“Didn’t you follow the men you had to watch the terrorists after me?” Didn’t you collect payments from my Visa card at the restaurants I ate at? You will be arrested when this duty is finished, you are aware of that. You are the biggest criminal in the Republic of Turkey.
“This case will continue until one of us dies. Either you apologize to the nation or it will continue until the end. But don’t try any provocations. I will slam all your attempts.”
Bahçeli’s support for Soylu
After the developments, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who is an AKP partner in the People’s Alliance, also supported Süleyman Soylu in the messages he posted on his social media account.
“Targeting our honorable Home Secretary and our Home Office, and the mass around the ministry with an 11 o’clock appointment cannot be considered an ordinary event. It is a dirty ploy , a vulgar ploy, an arrogant ploy and a wasted effort.” Bahceli said, “No one should be rude, everyone should know their limits and their place.” shared it.
Bahçeli, who also supported Süleyman Soylu in various previous tensions, posted on his Twitter account: “The name of our Interior Minister is Süleyman Soylu. Those who act before the ministry with shabby images, those who resort to anarchist methods are provocateurs. who play with fire.” shared:
“We know everyone’s value, expense and liver. We will not cause this sacred homeland to be lost or destroyed by those who open a front against the Turkish state for reasons beyond the water, with unnecessary polemics and objectives of order, and those which are the hope of terrorist organizations.”
Support for Soylu came from the presidency and the AKP.
Vice President Fuat Oktay also visited Süleyman Soylu in his ministry. Sharing the photos they took together on his Twitter account, Oktay said, “We visited our Minister of Interior, Mr. Süleyman Soylu, who carried out works for the peace and security of our country”, in his office.
AKP spokesman Ömer Çelik also said in a statement: “The deliberate policies of tension against our Interior Ministry are clear provocations. The AKP party will not allow these provocations. All these efforts to provocation to create tension in our country during this time are malicious.” made statements.
“We will send 8 million people back with the biggest return plan in history”
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu gave the following answers to a question about Ümit Özdağ, who criticizes Turkey’s immigration policy and said he would campaign for the return of asylum seekers, in a broadcast TV show he attended last night:
“I don’t put this man in the place of a man or a man. He’s a man less than an animal. It’s as simple as that. He’s trying to be a man. He’s a child of Soros and a child of operations. It’s obvious he’s an intelligence officer.”
Özdağ came to the party headquarters in Ankara this morning and held a meeting with his staff. The police did not allow cars to enter the street where the party headquarters is located.
Addressing the crowd waiting for him outside the party building, Özdağ said he would go to the Interior Ministry alone and said they would not allow “any provocation, confusion, street action”:
“I’m not going there as the chairman of the Victory Party because Süleyman Soylu insulted me and my family. It’s a personal matter between Süleyman Soylu and me now. Either he will answer for his blasphemy making a public apology, or this business will continue.
“We will bring our reaction to the polls. The statement made by Süleyman Soylu yesterday was the signal flare of the operation that was intended for us, we will extinguish this flare where it was launched.”
Özdağ left the headquarters to go to the Interior Ministry with the chants of the crowd “Stand up straight, don’t bend over, the Gray Wolves are with you”.
Özdağ called the party members and said, “I will go alone to the Interior Ministry at 11:00 a.m. I ask our party members and our citizens not to come to the Interior Ministry.”
The Victory Party Press Center announced that Ümit Özdağ will walk from the Dikmen Gate of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to the Protocol Gate of the Ministry of Interior.
Özdağ, who was prevented from going to the Ministry of Interior by car, wanted to go to the Ministry of Interior building across the boulevard by walking in front of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, but again confronted the police.
For a long time, the police tried to persuade Özdağ to make the press statement in front of Parliament, not the Interior Ministry.
Özdağ, on the other hand, offered to go alone to the Interior Ministry, leaving the press and party members behind, but was again blocked and a quarrel broke out between Özdağ and the police:
“It’s not the amusement park in the world. Not every person who breaks their rope can come. We’re saying we’re going to send 8 million people back with the biggest comeback project in history. It has upset the balance of the yellow opposition and the palace.”
According to official data announced by the Migration Management Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, as of April 28, 2022, 3,762,686 Syrians are under temporary protection in Turkey. 50,639 of these people are staying in temporary shelters.
According to the same dated statement, 1,417,997 foreigners live in Turkey with a residence permit.
Between January 1 and April 28, 65,569 irregular migrants were apprehended in Turkey, while 29,256 people requested international protection.

During Ümit Özdağ’s press release in front of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the tension continued to rise, the tension between the police and party members never diminished, and the journalists who followed the news were also beaten.
Özdağ claimed that Soylu was planning a plot against his party, according to information received by members of the police:
“There is a conspiracy against the Zafer party under the leadership of Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu. A police officer who came to our headquarters a few days ago gave information about this conspiracy.
“I learned who phoned whom and who will participate in this plot. I have confirmed it from other sources. They want to put us under psychological pressure by causing confusion in five or six provinces over accounts that seem to be members of the Victory Party.
“There is a group called the Atamans, they beat Syrians and Afghans right and left and they post it on social media. We filed a criminal complaint against them a month ago. two or three weeks ago they said, ‘We shut it down. , we dispersed. We realized there were dark centers behind it, who is it connected with. You can guess what ‘they are.
Özdağ also insulted the police officers who had arrested him and addressed Soylu saying: “Coward man, coward Süleyman, come in front of me, I was teaching my police brothers at the academy while you were selling pants. ”
