There was a need for education in Monoprix. The Casino group brand has already launched several initiatives in terms of metaverses and NFTs (tokens registered in a blockchain), but misunderstanding remains among consumers. A recent study by Wunderman Thompson found that 74% of them have actually heard of this technology, but only 15% know how to explain it. So, in an effort to hang up the wagons, Monoprix is launching training workshops in its stores.

The initiative is ephemeral but unprecedented. On Friday and Saturday, from 11:00 to 20:00, the Monoprix store in Paris Montparnasse will organize its “Le Web3 pour tous” event. On the program, four workshops organized with partners. KPMG’s Blockchain Partner will explain what blockchain is, Lugh (the Casino subsidiary dedicated to its euro-indexed cryptocurrency of the same name) will talk about cryptocurrencies, the Keyrus company will organize demonstrations in virtual reality and, finally, the Casino teams – organizers – Immobilier will describe the group’s approach, part of an “industrial vision”.
